RESOURCE CENTERS IN NE OHIO

North-east Ohio has several resource, cultural and educational centers that provide a number of activities for Native people. What follows is a list of organizations and contact information, listed by county. This list is updated as we make contact with these organizations, or as information changes.

Santa Elena Project of Accompaniment (S.E.P.A.)

Founded in 1997, SEPA is a non-profit, non-partisan corporation in Ohio exclusively for the charitable and educational purpose of supporting human rights work in the Guatemalan Mayan communities of Santa Elena and Copal AA. In addition, SEPA informs North Americans about conditions in Guatemala through educational outreach and delegations to Guatemala. Through various fundraisers, SEPA raises money to support self-directed infrastructure programs and to prevent human rights violations in these communities; 90% of all funds directly support projects in Guatemala.

Leonard Peltier Defense Offense Committee (L.P.D.O.C.)

Leonard Peltier is a political prisoner in the United States of America currently imprisoned at USP-Coleman, Florida. LPDOC has daily contact with Leonard Peltier, and is the hub of communication between he and and his supporters worldwide, the general public, the media, his program coordinators, government officials, political and tribal leaders.
