Oberlin Indigenous Peoples' Day Committee invites you to a documentary entitled "Contrary Warrior: The Life and Times of Adam Fortunate Eagle" (82 mins.), an intimate first-person account on the life and work of Native activist, artist, ceremonial leader, enemy of the State, and author, Adam Fortunate Eagle.
A Native led community access television show interviews political activist, Three Eagle Cloud (Taino), of the American Indian Issues and Action Committee. Three Eagle Cloud works to dispel stereotypes surrounding Native People and to promote and advance the issues that affect them. Three Eagle Cloud is currently a resident of Oberlin, Ohio.

This movie explores the resolve and resilience of the Cherokee people, who resisted removal from their homelands in the Southeast in every way they knew: assimilating, adopting a European-style government and legal system, adopting Christianity, and even taking their case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Though the Cherokee won recognition of tribal sovereignty in the U.S.
