Last Reading of Oberlin Indigenous Peoples' Day Resolution

Come and show your support for Indigenous Peoples' Day as Oberlin City Council prepares to become the first city in Ohio to adopt this holiday. This is the third and final reading of the resolution to adopt; the previous two readings passed unanimously so we anticipate that this resolution will indeed pass. A strong showing of support from indigenous people will be welcome.

Opening Day Demonstration 2017

Since 1973, Cleveland American Indian Movement has repeatedly objected to the degrading, racist depictions of Native people by Cleveland Baseball by demonstrating at every Opening Day. We continue to insist that Cleveland Baseball abolish it use of the clearly racist, exploitative and shameful “Indians” team name and the bigoted, despicable “Chief Wahoo” logo.

Columbus Day Demonstration

Join Cleveland American Indian Movement, the Native community and our supporters for this denouncement of a mass murderer and rapist who is shamelessly honored every year. He was taken back to Spain in chains and died in disgrace. His legacy of trans-Atlantic slavery and genocide should not be glorified.

We will meet at the corner of Main Street and College Street in Oberlin, Ohio.
