Comment on Intergenerational Trauma: Understanding Natives’ Inherited Pain by Muhammad-Khalil Ibn Abdullah

June 15, 2017 - 9:32am

I am a native Muslim person tied to the oldest Native peoples who mixed and married with Muslims from Africa. Talk about Traumatic military veteran 2003-2005. A strange person with even stranger language European, Native and African mixed together becoming Creole. Racism as well from other so-called native peoples against Blacks does not help. FBI had a task force just to intimidate me to stop organizing people to have sovereignty and their tribal rights. Whites put me into mental hospitals saying I was crazy. Blacks even stated I was crazy for my strange history and language prayers odd herbalist medicine ways. Just last week a black man told me to write my language and when I did he said it was a made up language because he could not read it. Why do people oppress others? Relearning your history is also traumatic piecing the language and culture back together or gathering documents for tribal recognition reading what the ancestors had to go through. Then sometimes you say this is still going on. Or I knew this word but never knew it meant this and this or its origins…
